The Certification of Mental Health Professionals and Equine Specialists in the field of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Facilitated Therapy (EFT) is the first area of importance for NACPET, Inc. Thus, prerequisite training and documented internship hours in the field and during each therapy session is imperative. As well as, testing and other guidelines have been established to maintain and add credibility to this experiential approach to therapy, which will ensure public safety; and enhance scientific research.
